CONTENT CREATORS IN MALAWI TO GET MONETIZATION

  Content Creators on Facebook and YouTube  in Malawi can now jubilate and breathe a sigh of relief for the fact that they will now get paid  for their content . Confirming the development, Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Director general Daud Suleman said that Content Creators on Facebook and YouTube will now get paid by Facebook and YouTube for their content online .  This development has brought joy and jubilation amongst Content Creators in the country . Monetization on Facebook and YouTube is the ability for content creators to earn money from their videos or posts. On Facebook, this can involve ad revenue from in-stream ads or fan subscriptions. On YouTube, creators can earn through ads, channel memberships, Super Chat, and the YouTube Partner Program. BULLETS COMPLETE TREBLE

  FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has clinched the inaugural 2023 Ibongetse Castel Cup after defeating rivals Silver Strikers through post match Penalties at the Bingu National Stadium  to claim  their third trophy this season and complete a treble . Silver took the lead through Atusaye Nyondo in the 8th minute before Lanjesi Nkhoma equalized to put scores level . Bullets then went on to win the game 4-2 in postmatch Penalties. Bullets who already have the TNM Super league title as well as the FDH cup in their trophy shelf this season , added another trophy to their shelf to continue their scintillating campaign this season which has seen them dominating in all major as well as domestic trophies in the land .  Under mentor Callisto Pasuwa , Bullets have won the Super League five times and will make history to becoming the first team in the Country's history to win a quadruple in a single season if they manage to beat MAFCO FC in the Airtel top 8 Finals . CROSS OVER NIGHT TO BOOST THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY

  The upcoming cross overnight organized by Philanthropist Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and the Enlightened Christian Gathering scheduled for the 31st December 2023 in Lilongwe is expected to boost the country's economy through forex gaining. In an interview with the Sight Media Group Spokesperson to Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, Aubrey Kusakala stated that the crossover event is to enhance the  country's economy by bringing in forex "The crossover event is to boost the country's economy because as I am talking to you right now, maltitudes are already converting foreign currency into Malawian Kwacha something which means that as a country forex is now coming in . PLU MOURNS MANEYA

  In a heartbreaking occurrence of events, Pentecostal Life University Community is today  mourning the sudden demise of one of its Students Kumbukani Maneya. Maneya who was a third year student studying Journalism and Mass Communication at the Institution, succumbed to death on Tuesday the 26th of December 2023 after being involved in a road accident where he sustained back injuries and was rushed to Kamuzu Central Hospital  where he was later   pronounced dead . In his remarks Mr Fredrick Mkula lecturer at the Institution in the Journalism and Mass Communication faculty, described the death of Maneya as Shocking and Untimely " I am  shocked to hear the untimely death of Kumbukani. It was last month when I interacted with him during the attachment class presentations.While in the middle of compiling the results and then hearing that Kumbukani has died, too bad" said Mkula . PLU REACHES OUT TO CHIKONDI AND MPHATSO ORPHANAGE CENTER

  Pentecostal Life University Community has donated assorted items to Chikondi and Mphatso Orphanage Center in area 25 Lilongwe. The initiative which is part of the Institution's corporate social responsibility this festive season saw Students as well as members of staff from the Institution coming together mobilizing donations and visiting the Orphanage Center to make the donations . In her remarks Dean of Students at the Institution Mrs Tiya Gobede who represented Management at the event said that the initiative was aimed at building good relationships between the Orphanage Center and Pentecostal Life University. She also stated that the initiative will help in cuttering the basic needs of children at the center during this festive season . She then assured the center of  continued support. The Institution  is set to embark on a charity initiative this coming Friday as Students and Members of Staff at the Institution will be  visiting Chikondano and Mphatso Orphan care center in Area 25, Lilongwe to make donations and the Institution has been asking it's members of staff and Students to come forward and make donations to complement the Charity initiative. A visit to the Institution's Campus by the Sight Media Group, shows that a booth has been set up to collect donations from well-wishers and many people including staff members and Students have replied to the call by the institution with a positive response by bringing forward donations.   Pentecostal Life University (PLU) is set to recognize the efforts made by outstanding personalities graduating at the Institution at the upcoming Finale dinner gala. The Institution is staging a Finale dinner gala event scheduled for Friday the 22nd of December 2023 at the state of art Bingu International Convention Center in Lilongwe. According to the University Management, all logistics pertaining to the event have been finalized and that the Institution will be awarding Students who performed well in different Categories during their time at the Institution Including Sports, Leadership, Discipline, Enterprenuership , Socialization and Dressing just to mention a few. The management further stated that the Criteria used to choose nominees was purely based on merit. The winners to these prestigious awards will be determined through an Online Poll  which has been set up by the Institution to give the liberty to other students at the Institution to select their preffered personalities

HAIYA RESIGNS FROM SULOM PRESIDENCY

  Newly elected Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya has today resigned from his post as the Incumbent Super league of Malawi(SULOM) President. Haiya said this during a press briefing conducted in Mzuzu to get his remarks on his new role . This comes barely few minutes after he was elected by FAM affiliates as the association's President defeating incumbent Walter Nyamilandu during FAM Elective General Meeting (EGM) which took place at Mzuzu Hotel Mzuzu. Haiya further stated that SULOM Vice President Colonel Gilbert Mitawa will be replacing him as new SULOM President. Haiya was elected as new SULOM President on the 25th of February earlier this year defeating Tiya Somba Banda and his decision makes him the shortest serving SULOM President in the country's Football history. PARTY LACKING INTRAPARTY DEMOCRACY

    Aspiring Presidential Candidate at the upcoming Democratic Progressive Party Convention Kondwani Nankhumwa has stated that there is no Intraparty democracy in the party . Nankhumwa was speaking this during a press briefing he conducted at Golden Peacock hotel in Lilongwe to confirm his interest of aspiring as a Presidential Candidate at the upcoming Party Convention. Nankhumwa who was fired from his post as party's vice president for the South, said that the party is lacking Intraparty democracy and people opposing Peter Mutharika's candidacy, are being intimidated . APM ASSIGNS NEW ROLES TO PARTY OFFICIALS

  President of the Progressive Party (DPP) Proffesor Arthur Peter Mutharika in exercise of the power vested in him under Article 10(8) of the DPP Constitution has assigned new roles to various party officials. In a letter released by the party, signed by Mutharika,  Kondwani Nankhumwa who was party's Vice President for the South has been assigned to the position of Presidential advisor and Party's veteran George Chaponda has taken over the Vice Presidency role . The letter further states that Cecelia Chazama who was party's Director of Women has also  been assigned to the Presidential advisor role and has been replaced by Mary Navicha . This comes days after the Party's General Secretary Grezelder Jeffery was replaced by Dr Ken Mwale and given the Party's Vice Presidency role for the Central region, a move which was strongly opposed by Jeffrey and other Senior Party Members.   Pentecostal Life University (PLU) now has a new Student Union courtesy of an election which took place earlier today at the Institution's campus . Students at the University today, took part in a voting exercise to elect new office bearers to the Institution's Student Union to replace the Incumbent Student Union whose term has come to an end . According to a memo released by the Elections Committee which was Presiding over the Elections, Clement Kledo Magombo is now the new Student Union President at the Institution after winning the election without any opposition.   The World is today the 3rd of December 2023  commemorating the 'International day of persons  with disabilities' under the theme "United in action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for, with and by persons with disabilities". The day is about promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life. CHIPONDA PLEADS FOR INCREASED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AT COP 28

  Minister of health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has asked global health leaders  to increase financial funding to  the Country's  health sector.   Current National Chess Champion Joseph Mwale continues to stage various campaigns in the country aimed at nurturing young talent in Chess but also ensuring the sustainability of the sport in the country. PLU STUDENT UNION ELECTIONS DATES CONFIRMED

  The Committee Presiding over the Pentecostal Life University Student Union elections has fixed Wednesday , 6th December 2023 as the Official day for the Polls . Speaking to the Sight Media Group, treasurer for the elections Committee Jedidiah Kalilangwe said that the long awaited elections to usher new Office bearers in the Institution's Student Union will take place on Wednesday, 6th of December 2023 while the aspirants Manifesto presentation to the voting audience will take place on Tuesday, the 5th of December. He continued by stating that campaign period will be officially closed on Monday the 4th of December and that no other aspirant will be allowed to campaign after Monday . Students at the prestigious tertiary Institution are expected to elect a new Student Union body to represent them. FLAMES STRIKE GOLD

  The Malawi Football National team (Flames) has landed an improved  Four year Sponsorship package worth One billion Kwacha from First Discount House (FDH) Bank . Confirming the development in a press briefing earlier today was  Chief Executive Officer for the bank Noel Nkuyichi . Reacting to the development President of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Walter MacMillan Nyamilandu who was also present at the event thanked the Bank for such a wonderful gesture. As a result of this Sponsorship package, the Flames are expected to be receiving 250 million Kwacha every year for a period of 4 years from the previous 120 million Kwacha.
