PLU REACHES OUT TO CHIKONDI AND MPHATSO ORPHANAGE CENTER

 



Pentecostal Life University Community has donated assorted items to Chikondi and Mphatso Orphanage Center in area 25 Lilongwe.


The initiative which is part of the Institution's corporate social responsibility this festive season saw Students as well as members of staff from the Institution coming together mobilizing donations and visiting the Orphanage Center to make the donations .


In her remarks Dean of Students at the Institution Mrs Tiya Gobede who represented Management at the event said that the initiative was aimed at building good relationships between the Orphanage Center and Pentecostal Life University. She also stated that the initiative will help in cuttering the basic needs of children at the center during this festive season . She then assured the center of  continued support.


Speaking at the event Clement Magombo the Student Union President said that the Initiative was part of the Institution's way of giving back to the community and helping the needy this festive season by providing them with basic amenities . He further stated that the Initiative is also in line with the Institution's core value of "shaping global leaders" as this will instill Goodwill and  responsibility in the minds of Students at the Institution.


In an interview with the Sight Media Group, deputy administration officer at the Orphanage Center Mr Gift Mbewe thanked PLU community for the  initiative , further stating  that it comes at a right time and that it will go a long way not only to help cutter for the Kids basic needs but it will also help in building the kids mental and psychological aspect " We are very happy that Pentecostal Life University came to our aid today to provide these kids with basic amenities. These initiatives help alot in providing the kids with basic necessities but also bolstering their mental and psychological aspects," said Mbewe . He further added that as an Orphanage Center they lack alot of things to support the kids effectively and pleaded with well-wishers to come forward and help the Center .


The Items donated by the PLU community at the Orphanage included Soap, Clothes, Soya pieces, Cooking oil.


Despite handing the donations, Students had time to share their experiences and interacted with the Children at the Orphanage Center.


Based in Area 25A Lilongwe, Chikondi and Mphatso Orphanage Center was established in 1995 to help the needy and underprivileged children in the area.It now has over 100  Children being fed  and supported .
