MWALE CONTINUES TO NURTURE YOUNG TALENT IN CHESS

 




Current National Chess Champion Joseph Mwale continues to stage various campaigns in the country aimed at nurturing young talent in Chess but also ensuring the sustainability of the sport in the country.


Through his Chess Academy known as the Mwale Chess Academy, Mwale has staged a series of Chess training services across the country to further explore and identify talent at grassroots .


In an Interview with the Sight Media Group, Mwale said that the main aim of these trainings is to nurture young talent but also produce a  Chess Grandmaster in the country"The aim is to nurture young talent at grassroots but also produce a chess Grandmaster in this country", Said Mwale.


He further said that through his academy and the trainings, kids patronizing these activities will have a chance to participate in African youth games, World youth games and African School games where they will get the much needed exposure, a chance to win titles but also a platform to enhance their skills .


The trainings are resuming this weekend in Area 3 and midweek at Lotus International High School in Lilongwe with mentorship from Malawi Open Champion Candidate Master George Mwale as well as the current best female Candidate Master Martha Kapalamula .


Next year Mwale Chess Academy will be sending best Performing Students abroad to participate in various tournaments and the academy is to stage a junior tournament on 24th December 2023 .


Mwale Chess Academy has been pivotal in nurturing  young talent but also the development of the sport countrywide through various  campaigns set aside by the academy.
