APM ASSIGNS NEW ROLES TO PARTY OFFICIALS

President of the Progressive Party (DPP) Proffesor Arthur Peter Mutharika in exercise of the power vested in him under Article 10(8) of the DPP Constitution has assigned new roles to various party officials.

In a letter released by the party, signed by Mutharika,  Kondwani Nankhumwa who was party's Vice President for the South has been assigned to the position of Presidential advisor and Party's veteran George Chaponda has taken over the Vice Presidency role .

The letter further states that Cecelia Chazama who was party's Director of Women has also  been assigned to the Presidential advisor role and has been replaced by Mary Navicha .

This comes days after the Party's General Secretary Grezelder Jeffery was replaced by Dr Ken Mwale and given the Party's Vice Presidency role for the Central region, a move which was strongly opposed by Jeffrey and other Senior Party Members.

The party continues to face power struggles and hostilities ahead of it's Convention on the 15th and 16th of December 2023.
