PARTIES MUST TAKE CAUTION WHEN ENTERING IN ALLIANCES

Political analyst George Chaima has urged political parties in the country to exercise caution before venturing into alliances prior to the upcoming 2025 polls.


Chaima made these remarks when he was reacting on Alliance for Democracy's (AFORD) sentiments on its alliance  stance ahead of the 2025 elections.


He further stated that parties should make sure to have clear terms, conditions as well as viable Manifestos before venturing into alliances with other parties to avoid Misunderstandings .


This comes after reports have been circulating about the hostilities and chaos being faced by the ruling Tonse alliance which has been as a result of parties joining the alliance without clear terms and  conditions.


According to experts , Having a complex and unclear terms and conditions in a political alliance brings in Not having clear terms and conditions in a political party's alliance can lead to several danger like bringing Misunderstandings since lack of clarity can result in disagreements  about the goals, roles, and responsibilities of each party in the alliance. Instability can also  be evident since   lack of clear terms can make the alliance fragile, with parties easily breaking away or switching sides based on changing circumstances or disagreements. Legal challenges can also arise due to  ambiguous or non-existent terms can create legal vulnerabilities, as parties may dispute the validity or interpretation of the agreement.


Therefore, to  avoid these dangers, political parties should ensure that their alliances have clear, well-defined terms and conditions that outline the goals, roles, and responsibilities of each party, as well as mechanisms for resolving disputes and managing the alliance effectively.

PLU STUDENT UNION ELECTIONS CAMPAIGN DATES CONFIRMED

  Campaign dates for the upcoming Pentecostal Life University (PLU) Student Union elections have been set for the 29th of November 2023 according to the Elections Committee Treasurer . In an interview with the Incumbent Student Union Treasurer who is also treasurer to the Elections Committee Jedidiah Kalilango, aspiring candidates in the upcoming elections are to start campaigning on the 29th of November 2023 and will end a day before voting while the actual day for the elections will be communicated to the Students later "Campaigning will start on Wednesday this week and about the election day, I will confirm" said Kalilango. He further added that registration for those aspiring to contest in the Elections is currently open and will close on Tuesday the 28th of November 2023 at  11:59am.   The much anticipated Pentecostal Life University (PLU) student Union Elections have commenced at the Institution's campus in Area 25, Lilongwe. At exactly 9:30 am Students started flocking at the voting station to elect new office bearers to the Institution's Student Union and most of them showed delight and happiness to exercise their voting rights.
