MUSLIMS ACROSS THE COUNTRY COMMEMORATING EID UL FITR


 


Maltitudes of Muslims in the country are today celebrating Eid Ul Fitr a day that marks the end of the holy month  Ramadan in the Islamic Calendar.


In the Northern city of Mzuzu Muslims have gathered at Katoto ground to celebrate the end of the holy month  which is expected to bring joy and jubilation amongst Muslims in the North.


In Mangochi, prayers marking the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan are underway at St Augustine 2 Primary School Ground while Other Muslims have also gathered at Mufti Abbas Center of Excellency.


In Blantyre, Muslims have gathered at Kamuzu Upper stadium to perform the Eid Ul Fitr prayers where Nikah and other Islamic Functions Association chairperson, Ishmael Kazembe says the prayer is held under the theme 'What have we benefited from the Ramadan?'


In Lilongwe the prayers are being held at Lilongwe Gold club.


Eid ul-Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," is a significant religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. It marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The exact date of Eid ul-Fitr varies each year, as it is determined by the lunar Islamic calendar. Typically, the festival begins with the sighting of the new moon, so it's a time for prayers, feasting, and giving to charity.
