BATTLE LINES DRAWN

  All roads tomorrow lead to the country's Football epicenter the Bingu National Stadium for what is expected to be a mouth watering encounter between Quadruple winners FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and the Central Bankers Silver Strikers in the 2024 NBS Charity Shield Match. Going into the match , FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be looking to further add Silverware to their trophy shelf which already had  four major trophies last season to its name  following a successful season the Blantyre based giants had . On the other hand, Silver Strikers will be looking to end the  trophy drought they had last season as well as  stepping  up preparations prior to the resumption of the Country's top flight league and Season. Silver Strikers Coach Peter Mponda who once had pivotal roles at Bullets as a Player and an Assistant Coach during his stint with The People's team has said that the match is expected to be a good test for his troops as they prepare to kick start their 2024 season Campaign .

THROUGH TO THE SEMIS

  The Malawi National beach soccer team on Wednesday booked their place in this year's COSAFA cup beach soccer semi finals following a 7-2 win over Sychelles at the South Beach Arena , Durban , South Africa. The team started the campaign with a 4-2 win over hosts South Africa in their opening encounter at the tournament before loosing to Saudi Arabia by 5 goals to one . The win over Sychelles, meant that the team had accumulated six points from three games, booking their place in the last four. They will face Morocco on the 22nd of March in the first semi final of the tournament while Saudi Arabia will face Mozambique  in the other semi final.

JUNIOR FLAMES TRIUMPH IN TOURNEY OPENER

  The  Malawi U20 National team begun their 4 Nations Cup campaign with a 3-2 win over the young Warriors of Zimbabwe in a match played at Silver Stadium. The Junior Flames who started the match on a low note giving away possesion cheaply , broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute of the first half courtesy of a Madalitso Safuli well struck left footed drive after lapses in the Zimbabwean defense. The young Warriors kept on searching for an equalizer and found it in the 41st minute of  the half through Antonio Alvin who finished from close range to keep the game level going to the halftime break. New Civo Service United attacker Emmanuel Savieli scored a brace minutes into the second half in the 56th and 58th minute of the second half to give the Junior Flames a two goal lead advantage. MABEDI INCLUDES NEW FOREIGN BLOOD IN LATEST FLAMES SQUAD

  Flames Coach Patrick Mabedi has included new foreign faces in his recent final squad for the upcoming four Nations tournament . Mabedi has handed debut call ups to Cambridge United deffender Jubril Okedina, Brentwood town FC Midfielder Takondwa Maosa and Butler Men's Soccer attacker Henri Kumwenda who both ply their trades in England . The recent call up has also seen the return of veteran Striker Gabadinho Mhango who has been missing in the Flames set up for for months due to disciplinary issues . The Flames start their Four Nations Campaign on the 23rd of March 2024 when the play host to the Harambe Stars of Kenya at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. Benjamin GK Nyirenda

BULLETS TO PLAY UD SONGO IN PRE_SEASON

  Quadruple winning FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face Mozambican giants UD Songo on the 23rd of March 2024  in a Pre-season friendly match to be played at UD Songo Stadium , Mozambique. According to Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Albert Chigoga , the match is part of the team's preparation for the upcoming 2024 Football season . However the people's team will go into this encounter without ten of their senior squad members who are out on international duty with the Flames . Benjamin GK Nyirenda 

FLAMES TO FACE HARAMBE STARS IN TOURNEY OPENER

  The Flames will face Kenya on the 23rd of March 2024 at Bingu National Stadium in their four Nations Cup opener . In other fixtures of the tournament, Zambia will face Zimbabwe on the same day before winners in the two fixtures, facing off in the tournament's Final on the 26th of March 2024 at the same venue. The U20 sides of the four countries will also follow the same route in fixtures and format during the course of the tournament. The four Nations tournament is a platform aimed at preparing the participating Nations an Ideal opportunity to put their teams in shape as they are preparing to compete in Continental competitions. The four teams participating include, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Kenya senior teams as well as U20 sides . Benjamin GK Nyirenda
