CHAPONDA PROPOSED TO REPLACE NANKHUMWA AS SOUTHERN REGION PARTY VP

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has suggested George Chaponda as the ideal candidate to replace Leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa as Party's vice president for the Southern Region.

Party Spokesperson Shadric Namalomba confirmed the development stating that the Party's vice president role for the South fell vacant the moment Kondwani Nankhumwa got expelled from the party on disciplinary grounds, hence the proposal.

Namalomba also disclosed that the party has appointed Jappie Mhango as the new party Chief whip a role that involves maintaining party discipline and ensuring that members attend and vote according to the party's official stance deputised by Mary Navicha replacing Julius Mwase and Victoria Kingston respectively.

Meanwhile, Nankhumwa is yet to comment on the matter .

Nankhumwa and other Senior part members were expelled from the party a few days ago after a disciplinary hearing held by the party .
