NYAMILANDU TO SEEK RE-ELECTION FOR THE LAST TIME
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Walter MacMillan Nyamilandu has once again disclosed that he will be contesting For the FAM Presidency for the last time during the fourth coming FAM elections scheduled to take place on the 16th of November 2023 in Mzuzu.
Nyamilandu was speaking this during a Press briefing conducted in Blantyre where he was confirming his intentions to once again compete for the Presidency Position in the upcoming elections.
Nyamilandu backed his decision to seek re-election for the last time saying that he still has some unfinished projects from his "Raising the bar blueprint" which needs to be completed in the coming four years hence his decision.
Presenting his new theme this campaign"Bridging the Gap" Nyamilandu further added that he plans to further develop the game of football in the country.
Having once said the same sentiments of seeking re-election for the last time during last FAM elections , Nyamilandu went ahead seeking re-election something which has raised doubts in the minds of many Malawians to whether he will indeed seek re-election for the last time this time around.
Dating back to his early years of office Walter Nyamilandu has been FAM President since 2004 when he was First ushered into office up to now , serving the office for close to 20 years .
He faces stiff competition this time around from Super League of Malawi (SULOM) President Fleetwood Haiya who has come in open to show interest in contesting for the FAM hot seat .
