KABAMBE SUGGESTS SOLUTIONS AMIDST FUEL CRISIS

 


One of the Presidential aspirants in the upcoming Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Elective Convention Dr Dalitso Kabambe has suggested immidiate recovery solutions in dealing with the current fuel Crisis in the country.


Speaking to the press Kabambe has Suggested that immidiate reforms in  Fiscal Policy formulation  which involves use of government spending and taxation to Influence the economy can ease the fuel Crisis in the country.


He further stated that good Monetary and exchange rate policy reforms can also act as a quick remedy to the current fuel Crisis and the economic hurdles at large .


Kabambe who formerly worked for the country's Central Bank as Governor has since asked the government to stop blaming the country's situation on the war in Ukraine and COVID-19 but instead find solutions to save the citizens from economic captivity.


Malawi has a traditional economic system in which the majority of the population engages in subsistence agriculture, and the allocation of available resources is made on the basis of primitive methods.


The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) conducts monetary policy aimed at achieving macroeconomic stability in Malawi. This is done by adjusting interest rates and money supply to affect the country's output, prices, and exchange rate.
