MOHBAD DIES AT 27 ( ANALYSIS OF EVENTS )

One of Nigeria's  fast rising Music sensations Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known in the Music circles as Mohbad Imole  passed away in the late hours of  12th  September 2023 at the age of 27 after being treated for an infection.


Mohbad who begun Music from humble begginings in the streets of Lagos got recognition from the Nigerian Music industry in the year 2019 when he got signed by Marlian Music a Music label owned by one of Nigeria's Prominent record label owners Naira Marley and took the industry by storm in 2020 when he released his first Album titled "Light" under Marlian Music  as a follow up to his viral song "Ponmo" which had went viral in many media platforms across the country. He  featured Lil kesh and Naira Marley in his debut  album.


He then left Marlian Music in 2022 and opted to work under his own record label known as Imolenization and in the year 2023 , he released his second Music huge project called the "Blessed Extended playlist (Ep)" under his record label Imolenization which he featured other Prominent Nigerian Musicians like Bella Shmurda and Zlatan Ibile , the EP Charted at number one on Apple music in Nigeria one week after it's release and subsequently , Immidiately after his death this month.


ALLEGATIONS AGAINST NAIRA MARLEY AND SAM LARRY 


After two years, he announced his departure from Marlian Records. On 5 October 2022, MohBad accused his manager, singer Naira Marley, of assault and stated that his former boss ordered people to beat him up after he announced his intention to employ a different manager to handle his music and business affairs.


After MohBad's death, it was reported that he had filed a police report in June 2023 alleging that Samson Erinfolami Balogun, a music promoter nicknamed "Sam Larry" and a known associate of Marley's, had assaulted him and destroyed some of his property. In the report, MohBad said that Larry had interrupted a video shoot, leading a group of 15 men armed with firearms and cutlasses who claimed to work for monarch Oba Elegushi.


Police later said MohBad had not attended a subsequent meeting to address the allegations, and that Balogun and others accused of the assault had then filed a defamation complaint. Elegushi released a statement distancing himself from Balogun and expressing condolences on MohBad's death.


Mohbad who was also a rapper and song Writter was born on the 8th of June 1996 in Ketu , Lagos State in Nigeria and had a wife by the name of Omawunmi and a son born in April this year .


Police subsequently announced that they would investigate the circumstances of the singer's death after his body was exhumed on the 21st of September 2023 in reaction to people's dissatisfaction which was shown towards how fast Mohbad's body was quickly burried .


Meanwhile People across Nigeria have been holding demonstrations advocating for a thorough investigation for Mohbad's death .

PLU STUDENT UNION ELECTIONS CAMPAIGN DATES CONFIRMED

  Campaign dates for the upcoming Pentecostal Life University (PLU) Student Union elections have been set for the 29th of November 2023 according to the Elections Committee Treasurer . In an interview with the Incumbent Student Union Treasurer who is also treasurer to the Elections Committee Jedidiah Kalilango, aspiring candidates in the upcoming elections are to start campaigning on the 29th of November 2023 and will end a day before voting while the actual day for the elections will be communicated to the Students later "Campaigning will start on Wednesday this week and about the election day, I will confirm" said Kalilango. He further added that registration for those aspiring to contest in the Elections is currently open and will close on Tuesday the 28th of November 2023 at  11:59am. PLU STUDENT UNION ELECTIONS COMMENCE

  The much anticipated Pentecostal Life University (PLU) student Union Elections have commenced at the Institution's campus in Area 25, Lilongwe. At exactly 9:30 am Students started flocking at the voting station to elect new office bearers to the Institution's Student Union and most of them showed delight and happiness to exercise their voting rights.
