FINGERS CROSSED: FLAMES NEED TO AVOID DEFEAT

Image
The Malawi national football team at all cost need to avoid defeat this afternoon in their final group game against Comoros to boost their chances of progressing to the semi finals. The Flames are at the Summit of group B with six points from two games followed by arch rivals Zambia , who have managed to collect 3 points from two games . The Flames only need a point to book a semi Finals slot at the ongoing COSAFA cup and probably face a less strong opponent in the semi finals .  Defeat for the Flames , will mean that they can finish second in the group and face a higher rated team in the semifinals or even fail to progress to the semi finals on goal difference as a result of a Zambia win over Sychelles later today . The Flames opened this year's COSAFA cup campaign with a one nil win over rivals Zambia before following it up with an impressive 2 nil win over Sychelles. Article by Benjamin GK Nyirenda
