MNANGAGWA PAYS HOMAGE TO NGWAZI

The President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa who is in the country for a state visit  , paid homage to the late founding Father of Malawi Ngwazi Hastings Kamuzu Banda .

As part of his engagements during his state visit to Malawi , Mnangagwa visited the Kamuzu Mausoleum in the country's Capital Lilongwe where he laid a wreath to pay  homage to the country's founding Father who during his rule inspired Zimbabwe's struggle for Independence.

Banda first became involved in politics in late 1940's when he opposed the federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland , but also fought for self rule and abolishment of Colonialism in Malawi a move which inspired other Africans like Colonel Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe to fight for Independence.
